The e-learning environment is divided into two categories: synchronous and asynchronous.
Asynchronous learning is a student-centred teaching method that uses online learning resources to facilitate information sharing outside the constraints of time and place among a network of people.
Synchronous learning refers to a learning event in which a group of students are engaging in learning at the same time.
Nowadays most of the courses were online in Asynchronous mode, most of the LMS system provides Asynchronous learning facility.
The synchronous learning required the trainer and trainees should be live and there are immediate feedbacks and interaction between them. Example tools are video conferencing, webinar, instant messaging or live chatting etc.
